These days, Vietnam has become one of the best places to travel thanks to its traditional culture and natural beauty. Possessing a harmonious combination of mountains and beaches, Da Nang City is a famous tourist complex for tourists from Vietnam or around the world. Known as a natural symbol of Da Nang city, Marble Mountain or Ngu Hanh Son has long become a place of worship for Buddha with a population of mountain peaks, limestone caves, and pagodas just waiting to be discovered.

  • Location: 52 Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang
  • Opening hours: 07:00 – 17:30 (Monday – Sunday)

I. History of Marble Mountains

According to the legend of the Cham people, a long time ago, a huge dragon flew to give birth to her here. After that, the dragon’s egg got bigger and bigger until one day, a fairy flew from the dragon’s egg and their eggshell grew into the five mysterious Marble Mountains as people see today.

Marble Mountain - A place of nature and spirituality

In the 19th century, Ngu Hanh Son was named Ngu Hanh Son by Minh Mang (the second king of the Nguyen Dynasty) according to the theory of the five elements of the East (water, wood, fire, metal, and earth). The Vietnamese government has kept this name so far and it has become a famous destination in Da Nang.

II. The best time to visit Ngu Hanh Son

Located in the middle of Vietnam, Da Nang has two seasons: the dry season (from December to August) and the rainy season (from September to November). Therefore, tourists can visit the Marble Mountains at any time of the year.

However, the most ideal time to go to Ngu Hanh Son is summer, people can combine swimming with natural beaches in Da Nang or Hoi An such as My Khe Beach and An Bang Beach. If tourists travel in the summer, they can not only experience the most beautiful mountain clusters but also discover Vietnam at the most beautiful time of the year.

During this time, people can go hiking because the weather is not too hot. Due to the typhoon season in Vietnam and the rainy season in Da Nang, the weather can be unpredictable and the steps of the mountain can also slip.
